The Star Garden

In 2025, progress is now underway for ‘The Star Garden’. The demolition of the former Crieff Hotel marks the successful completion of extensive work behind the scenes, including securing funding, managing utilities, and obtaining planning approvals. Creative Crieff are eager to make the most of the available greenspace. They have consulted with local individuals and groups to gather feedback and ideas of what the local community would benefit from in ‘The Star Garden’.

‘The Star Garden’ has emerged as a productive way to utilise the outdoor space whilst we await the full development of the site. Creative Crieff are feeling optimistic about the area becoming a greenspace for the community to enjoy, it will be a positive addition to the pre-existing community gardens in Crieff.

The development of ‘The Star Garden’ is ongoing, with plans to regenerate the outdoor space with a range of sensory planting, grow-your-own food beds, and a community potting shed that will provide a sheltered area from the unpredictable Scottish weather conditions. Local artist June McEwan will also be creating a mural for the Gabel Wall. Additionally, there will also be a range of vibrant knitted flowers and vegetables to disguise the Heras fencing that will be between the garden and ‘The Star Experience’ building site.

The aim of ‘The Star Garden’ is to create a small oasis just off the High Street, where people of all ages can garden, relax, or gather to connect with others. It is a community driven initiative that we hope will bring people together and be a space for everyone to enjoy.

The garden is set to open in May 2025, and we look forward to sharing photos and updates as we move forward.
